JK3

Bio

JK3 is a rhythm section formed in Ottawa by members of Pony Girl. The trio backs touring artists (Old Cabin, Crissi Cochrane, Gianna Lauren…) and are regularly joined by more musicians for JK3 concerts. JK3 are a resident band at The Atomic Rooster in Ottawa.

The band’s founding members are Jeff Kingsbury on drums, Julien Dussault on guitar, and Greggory Clark on bass. Regular players include Michel Cousineau, Cameron Hill and Tom Allen, and other musicians occasionally contribute such as saxophonist Mike Lett, pianist Jeremy “Ajani” Jordan, and Dutch electro duo Dialoog (Yuri Bakker and Michael Powell).

JK3 perform instrumentals, improv, jazz fusion and hip hop. In 2014 at the Canadian Museum of Nature late-night Nature Nocturne, the group performed original arrangements of music from the classic video game Chrono Trigger – and continue to commission new arrangements for their concerts.
